  • Begins the week of March 30 with Finals scheduled the week of June 15
  • Team fee is $2,125
  • Registration is open in RAMP now and will close once around March 20 unless we fill up before that.
  • Registration Instructions and the link to Team Registration are on the top banner of our website
  • You may not end up in the division selected in Registration if there are more than 8 teams selecting that division - this is a common occurrence.
  • So, for example, if you want to be in Div C but 12 teams have registered there, you may end up in Division B or D.
  • Remember that if you are short a few guys, consider the Waiting List on our website - many guys are new to Calgary and are keen to join a team
  • Gyms this year will be
    • MNP Community & Sport Centre
    • West Island College
    • Third Academy East
    • and The Park at CCS
  • Like previous seasons, the 3 game seeding round is followed by a 7 game round robin then playoffs - each team is guaranteed 11 games
  • Division games will be scheduled as follows
    • Div A - mostly Mondays, some Tuesdays
    • Div B - mostly Mondays and Tuesdays
    • Div C - mostly Tuesdays and Wednesdays
    • Div D - mostly Wednesdays
    • Div E - mostly Thursdays
  • Note the schedule is different for the shortened Victoria Day holiday week and weeks where some gyms are not available so other gyms/days are used instead.

Additional information

Only players on the team roster as shown on the website can play. Being registered means you our games are sanctioned by Basketball Alberta and there is legal and medical insurance in place.

Team captains can track the status of your team in Registration. Scorekeepers are doing their job when they point out individuals not on the roster cannot play. Players should register at least one day before their game.

We have uniforms for sale for $35 each - black and white reversible. Available now. And we have a basketballs left for sale for $40.

All players must wear the same color and style of uniform and all uniforms should have clearly visible numbers on the front and back. Numbers on the front are to be at least 6 inches, back 8 inches. Failure to do so may result in discipline including loss of points, providing points to the opposing team and automatic default of the game. Reversible uniforms are required. Players are expected to wear the same number for the entire season.

Players are expected to demonstrate the spirit of fair play and respect for the game. Officials, opponents, timer/scorers as well as facility staff & property are to be treated with courtesy and respect.

MNP Sport & Community Notes:

  • Use the north entrance this year due to expansion construction
  • Team captains can pick up MNP Sport Centre passes at their first game the week of March 30 to April 3
  • Starting April 14, players without a 2026 MNP Sport Centre Spring League access card may be required to pay the drop in rate of $18 to get in. Most teams that play at MNP SC should have their cards by then, but if not the team captain should contact Therese at uniforms@csmba.ca to arrange pickup.
  • Spectators must check in with the back gate volunteer (if back gate volunteer isn’t present then please go to the front gate and wait in line to check in with a Customer Service Rep). They are to sign in and identify which club they are watching. They will also be required to show a piece of ID if they are 13 and over. The Volunteer or Customer Service Rep will give them a spectator stamp upon entry. Entry will only be permitted up to 15 minutes prior to game times. MNPCSC staff will be vigilant about checking spectator stamps and any misconduct from spectators using the facility.

Officials - here are things to keep in mind

CBOA officials have varying levels of experience, game management, skill and tolerance levels for "chat" between players and officials.
You will not see and should not expect consistency from game to game throughout the season. In this way, they are like us - we have good games and not so good games
We recommend you adapt your play to the officials and keep chatter to a minimum
Officials are not required to respond to any chat/questions/suggestions and those that do respond, do so at their discretion
Any concerns are best provided by the captain during the breaks between quarters or at half time. Of course, this should be done in a calm and constructive way.
If you have a serious concern, send it to me, your commissioner and abm@csmba.ca  and we will forward it to the CBOA executive. In severe cases, their members can be suspended. Most of the time, they are provided coaching.
Last and not least, remember that accumulation of 3 or more "suspendable" Ts and Us will result in fines and game suspension. The very few guys that accumulate 6 are suspended for the season.

Overtime is 7 minutes running time or first team to 7 points, whichever happens first. Ties are possible in the regular season.

The seeding round of 3 games will happen over 3 weeks ending April 16. A round robin will then be played through to June 5, followed by playoffs.

FIBA rules do not permit wearing of fitness trackers or other items on your wrist. CBOA officials will ask you to remove them during the game.

Have a great season !!
